DEG General Imagery Guidelines
General Do’s image guidelines:
- Do use images that help the traveler imagine what it is like being there and what makes the destination unique
- Do use images that accurately highlight a specific experience
- Do use images that will accomplish the above even within a mobile size
General Don’t image guidelines:
- Don't use images that are people focused and therefore do not allow the traveler to imagine what it is like to be there or highlight what makes the destination unique
- Don't use images that are generic and could be an experience anywhere
- Don't use images that once scaled down to mobile size no longer accurately highlight an experience
Questions to ask yourself if you are unsure if an image meets guidelines:
- Does this image showcase unique facets of the destination and give travelers the sense of what it is like to be there?
- If you remove the people from the image, can we get a sense of the destination?
- Will the image still showcase the destination if cropped to a mobile size?
